FAQ
When is the ideal time to schedule a photoshoot?
To ensure availability and allow for planning, it’s generally best to book your photoshoot early. For maternity sessions, aim for 28-36 weeks of pregnancy, ideally booking during your first trimester. The sweet spot for newborn photos is within the first 2-3 weeks after birth, so inquire during pregnancy. For general baby photos capturing milestones, reach out at least 3-4 weeks in advance. Similarly, for family photoshoots, booking 3-4 weeks ahead is recommended, especially for specific seasons or dates.
Can you recommend some good locations for photos?
Absolutely! There are fantastic photo opportunities all around us. For a cozy and atmospheric indoor setting, consider charming cafes or the personal intimacy of your own home. When it comes to embracing the beauty of the outdoors, nearby gardens, parks, and even charming streets offer wonderful natural backdrops. These are just a few ideas to get us started in finding the perfect place to capture your precious moments. What if my Prague apartment is too dark for a home session?
If your home lacks natural light, I recommend renting a bright daylight studio in Prague or using a well-lit space of a friend or family member. Another great alternative is a photoshoot at a bright rural cottage or any interior where you feel relaxed and inspired.
I feel nervous in front of the camera. How does posing work?
As a professional maternity photographer in Prague, I guide you through the entire process. You don’t need to be a model! My style is based on spontaneous moments and authenticity. Instead of stiff posing, we focus on emotions and your connection with your partner. I will help you relax so the final images feel effortless and natural.
Are there any props that we can use for the photoshoot?
While I believe in the power of simplicity for maternity, newborn, or family photography and generally prefer to capture the essence of the moment without the distraction of props, I understand some families might have ideas. My goal is to create timeless images that showcase the beauty of your unique story, the love you share, and I find that a minimalist approach often achieves this best.
What to wear for a photoshoot in Prague?
When choosing your outfit, prioritize comfort and a “timeless” look. Because Prague weather can be unpredictable, layering is your best friend:
- Colors & Patterns: Opt for soft pastel colors, earthy tones, or classic jeans and white shirts. Avoid large logos, busy patterns, or distracting text.
- Style: Flowy maxi dresses are beautiful for outdoor sessions, while a simple blouse and jeans work great for a lifestyle look.
- The “Tone on Tone” Rule: Coordinate with your partner and children by choosing complementary shades rather than everyone wearing identical outfits (like matching white T-shirts).
- For the Cold: In autumn or winter, cozy knit sweaters, elegant coats, and scarves add a wonderful texture to your photos while keeping you warm.
- For Baby: Prepare a simple, solid-colored newborn onesie and a soft blanket.
How long does a photoshoot take?
Photoshoot duration can typically range from two to four hours or more, depending on several factors. These include the mood and cooperation of children (for family and baby sessions), the number of photos desired, and travel time if multiple locations are involved (common for family and maternity sessions). Newborn sessions, in particular, require flexibility and include breaks for feedings, diaper changes, and cuddles. Therefore, I recommend allocating ample time for your photoshoot and focusing on being relaxed and enjoying the process without feeling rushed.
What is the price and what is included in your packages?
Instead of complex price comparisons, I offer one transparent All-inclusive Package for 9,900 CZK (396 EUR). This package includes everything from the initial consultation to final edits, ensuring no hidden fees.
What is included?
- 2-4 Hour Session: Plenty of time for rest, conversation, and outfit changes.
- Full Collection (25+ photos): You receive a complete story in high resolution.
- Consultation & Styling: A 30-minute online call to align our vision and discuss outfit ideas.
- Travel: Free travel within 100 km of Prague.
- 100% Satisfaction Guarantee: If you aren’t happy with the experience, I will refund your payment in full.
When and in what format will I receive my photos?
You will receive your edited, high-resolution photos in JPEG format via a secure download link within 3-4 weeks. During peak seasons (summer or Christmas), delivery might take slightly longer due to the complexity of my signature post-production process.
Can I get the unedited (RAW) files?
I do not provide RAW files. I believe that professional retouching and my specific editing style provide the final artistic value. Think of unedited photos as a painter’s sketch – they are part of the process, but not the final masterpiece you hired me for.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
If we realize we aren’t a good fit during our initial consultation, I offer a full refund. Once a date is firmly booked, the payment serves as a commitment. In case of illness, I prioritize finding a new date. However, complete cancellations by the client result in the payment being retained as a cancellation fee.
